Fortress of the Amazon city Lykastia

At Tekkeköy, some kilometers east of Samsun, there are impressive ruins of a mighty fortress. Only by using a well-contrived system of stairs there is a way up to the platform of the castle. From there you can overview the western part of the Thermodon-Iris plain. Around this fortress the ancient town had expanded. Presumably, these are the remains of the Amazon town Lykastia.
